Lots and lots and LOTS of interesting stuff there, like:
- New Sisters of Battle stuff (updated codex? Another WD update with these new units?)
- Tons of LOTR stuff (due to The Hobbit obviously) but these plastic "Adventure" sets sound promising. Hopefully they're something more than just the film scene boxsets from the first LOTR. I'm thinking like, minigames / campaigns using those figures.
- Lots and lots of splash releases of small ranges of stuff like plastic Greater Daemons, Deathwatch etc.

So what do you guys reckon to it all?

Sisters of Battle Rumour Thoughts

Ello,

Today I thought I'd run through the Sisters of Battle WD Codex rumours that have been floating around for a bit. Most people know them and / or have read them on BOLS / Elsewhere, but I was looking at my Brotherhood of the Forge army last night and wondered where this is going to leave me now...

I'm pasting the rumours from BloodofKittens HERE and HERE and I'll intersperse with my thoughts in.
  • Allies gone
  • Inquisition gone
  • Faith streamlined
  • USRs updated to 5th
  • Cheaper Unit costs
As most people have said, these are the obvious things to happen.

Allies going is good. I don't mind if the codex has it's own Guardsmen rules or whatever else (highly unlikely) but the system of sharing between Codexes was a pain. Although it was pretty nice when you're starting the army, to be able to ally it into your Marines or Imperial Guard.

I'm a bit upset with the loss of the Inquisition, I really enjoyed using the Inquisitors and their Henchmen - hopefully it doesn't mean the removal of Zealots as well. I really wanted to make a unit of them!

Faith getting streamlined is something I never had a problem with, but I can understand where people had confusion upon reading the codex. All fine by me really, anything that makes it a bit more obvious to the opponent and also means no keeping track of dead models. It's always a fixed roll.

USRs updated and cheaper unit costs are just bringing it into line with 5th ed. The amount of unclear wordings or old terminology from older books, can sometimes cause an issue, or newer rules have done them over.
 Faith
The only thing that really stays the same is only faith producing units can use faith. Gone is the over and under rules based on model count and gone is faith powers that everyone can use.  It is replaced with every unit has its own unit specific act of faith to call upon.

I did like the unit size rules as it made you think more about the squad size you were taking, as an example, Retributors in the old book trying to get the rending was much easier if you took a 10 man squad, rather than a 5 - as you had to roll under (if I remember right...) the number in the squad. I don't mind either way really
So for instance Repentia Act of Faith allows them to always land an attack even if they are killed before they can swing. They are little bonuses like re-rolling to wound and hit, no USRs. Now this if fine and dandy if you just pop a faith point and bam! power goes off, but not so fast. Acts of Faith require that you roll 5+ to activate . This makes faith much more unreliable… maybe. In addition every unit that can get faith generates 1d6 faith points per turn. This also means that a new faith pool is generated each turn with no storing of past faith. As well faith can be activated in multiple phases of the game, so for instance you can re-roll to hit in your shooting phase or in your assault phase.
A straight 5+ roll, (which I'd imagine that Imagifiers would give a re-roll to), sounds not too great. Depending how many dice you can chuck at it, obviously. With the sound of a "Faith Pool" similar to Fantasy Magic, I would imagine you can chuck multiple dice and it's not so bad. At least every unit has a chance on 1D6 to get their power off.

I'm in two minds about this however, I did like having to think tactically about where to spend my points across the enter 5 to 7 turns and having a finite amount. I do agree this way is easier to keep track of, but yeah. Not bad, just different.

Random tidbits
  • All Faith generating units get +6 invul save
  • All units that can get transports get Immolators or Rhinos
  • Assassins gone (Death Cult still in)
  • Wargear with the same names as GK wargear stay and get changed over. (e.g. Psybolt Ammo)
  • Karamazov gone
  • Priests in, pretty much same as before.
  • No change to the general Bolter, Melta, Flame concept of the Sisters
Invulnerable saves are never anything to be sniffed at. Although I wonder what this means for their Psychic defence?

The Immolators / Rhino dedicated transport options sounds pretty good, it's similar to the Razorback / Venom small unit or a Raider / Rhino for a bigger squad options we've seen about.

I'm glad at least that Death Cult stayed. I'd got 3 of them painted up ready to use. I would have liked to have the option for an actual assassin however.

Wargear I'm not too fussed over, it's one of those things that needs doing.

Karamazov I'm gutted over. I really wanted to convert a Brotherhood version of him.

Sisters have about 5 HQ choices including Special Characters
St. Celestine: Same price as a Grand Master you get 2+/+4 saves, WS/BS 7 Jump Pack, Fleet, Power Weapons always wounds on 4+   Has the power to come back like GK Thawn if killed.
Sounds good, pretty in line with what's already there now, just dependant on what wargear she has (blessed weapon, flamer, etc.) and if there's any additional special rules like leadership bonuses and whatnot.

Confessor: Takes the slot of the old Inquisitors. Cheap HQ (Warboss). Can create a henchman band using most of the henchman found in the GK codex. What makes the Confessor extra deadly is the ability for it to re-roll hits and wounds for her and the squad. This is the translation of the rumor matrix. So think for one second about her and the Death Cult together?
I guess I've just found what my Inquisitor model will now become. Time to start thinking about how to convert the Henchmen. With the last codex I really wanted an Inquisitor leading a retinue of all Crusaders (I'm thinking of Dwarf Shieldbearers) but that fell by the wayside when I read the "Max 3 of each" line.

Repentia: Cheaper close to SM cost. FNP, Rage, Fearless, 6+ invul, no transports
Good. I love the Repentia, I just want more and cheaper. Start thinking about getting another box of Dwarf Miners now then...

Battle Sister Squad: Cheaper 10-20 unit size (no combat squads), but has access to Immolators which begs the question… Immolators either get increased transport capacity or Sisters break the rules concerning model count and buying transports. Multiple acts of faith.
As people have pointed out here, this 10-20 unit size causes issue with the Immolator capacity. I'm hoping that maybe the 10-20 is a mistake and it's actually 5-20, meaning 5 sisters in the Immolator. Glad to see they're cheaper (although it means I need to make more...)

Exocists: Pretty much same as before.
If they aren't broke, don't try to fix them. What I would like is maybe a Blast firing option, even as a paid for extra.

What is not in the Codex
  • Repressors
  • Arbites

Booooooo! I wanted Judge Dredds and the Repressors would have been a really nice new vehicle, just for some variation.

Canoness: Here is my special shout out to the Canoness: you are terrible. I mean grossly underpowered. Now this is going to sound like a cop-op, but I am not going into details because my hope is that she will be changed before release. It just sounds and looks like she is an unfinished product. She gets her own retinue that cannot do anything; she starts out cheap, but her upgrades are expensive and lame when you compare to everything else. So here is hoping to GW getting her fixed.
Not too great. I was hoping that maybe even if she wasn't too good, that she'd unlock a Celestian squad (or all) as Troops, to get people to consider taking them. Hopefully will get more info on why exactly she's terrible.

Repentia: Forgot to mention they have fleet
Excellent. Might mean they actually get across the board without being mown down, and provide more of an unpredictable threat.

Celastians: Cheaper than a Marine, but not really anything going for them (that I know of)… extra attack. Re-roll hits for act of faith
There goes my Imagifier theory.. Damn. Hopefully they'd be able to take some cool items or weapons?

Sister Battle Squad: Can still get a Heavy Flamer
Good news I guess. I never used them, preferred the cheaper Flamer / Melta option.

Shraphim: They are pretty amazing. Cheaper than a Space Marine you get a Jump Packing, Hit and Running, and an act of faith that has them re-rolling wounds. You can also upgrade them to run with double hand flamers and melta pistols. They act both as an extra close combat weapon and become assault 2 instead of being twin-linked. So that means Assault 2 melta weapons.
So in other words, no change to how popular they are nowadays. Assault 2 rather than twin-linked is a bit swings and roundabouts really. It does mean you might get 2 Melta shots, rather than 1 pretty good chance of getting 1.
Dominion Squads: Still get 4 special weapons. Act of Faith twin-linked.
Never really bothered using them because they weren't scoring unit. I can see the benefit for them in an Immolator, hopping out with 4 meltas to trash something but other than that I wasn't sold. We'll see.
Retributor Squads: Pretty fantastic. CHEAP! Talking under Long Fang cheap to fully kit out. Expect the return of the Heavy Bolter with these. Act of Faith is Rending.
These were one of my favourite units in the current codex. As soon as I read the act of faith for ignoring armour saves on a 6, I wanted 4 Heavy Bolters to try and waste through a Marine unit or other such. I'm glad that their act of faith in the new book is actual Rending, now it means everyone will be jumping on the Heavy Bolter fun.
Penitent Engines: Again fantastic. Same statline (Walker). No Scout or Infiltrate. Cheaper and can be a squadron aka 9 Engines. They still get the 1D6 attacks, but any wounds generate additional attacks (don’t know if they work like Blood Talons). 6+ Invul (don’t know if they generate faith)
I like Penitent engines, in the last book it was just a shame you couldn't take more (and that the models were expensive and weighed a ton...) but it was always my intention to take some. I figured with the rumours of a new book and updated models (and Finecast changes) I'd hang fire on these guys for the time being. I'd really like at least 1 unit of them in my force though. I love the idea of the walkers going mental. I'd also like if they did an upgrade character for these, like a Priest Overseer, allowing them re-rolls or 1 mob to be a Troop choice.

So that's it folks... Took me a while to compile and comment on them, but overall I'm really excited (as with any new Codex!) and I'm glad to see a WD update. I know a lot of people have got up in arms over it, but I'm beyond caring. Any update is a good update, in my opinion.

Thanks to Blood of Kittens for the rumours initially.

Peace,
SB

Pick D3 units during deployment and giving them a special rule:
Makes them scoring (kinda neat for dread and or elite paladins)
Makes them re roll 1s to wound all game
Makes them have counter attack USR.
Makes them Scout
All these units are affected by the one choice.

No Drop Pods
But GK strike squads are supposed to be able to take personal teleporters. This makes them jump infantry. And once per game it is rumored to allow them to make a 30" move, just move... not a on table deep strike. they Can shoot when they do this, but not charge.

Paladins: 2 wounded terminators (they can have an apothecary in the squad)

Purifiers: Grey Knights that have a lot of anti horde options, they are the ones with the power that will do a wound on every engaged enemy model in cc on 4+.

Terminators equipped with frag and krak grenades.

Psychic Powers
Hammer Hand: +1 strength in Close Combat
Warp Quake: Any deepstriking unit that lands within 12" suffers automatic mishap.
Holocaust: S5 AP - Large Blast 12"
Quicksilver: Unit becomes Initiative 10
Warp-Rift: Template that auto removes models from play
The Summoning: A single friendly unit that is anywhere on the table is placed within 6" of the librarian and counts as deepstriking.
Smite: As C:SM
Might of Titan: Beginning of librarians assault phase. Unit within 6" gains +1 str and extra D6 armour pen vs vehicles. Bonus is cumulative with hammerhand.
The Shrouding: Opponents shooting phase. All units within 6" gain stealth (minimum 5+ cover in the open).
Mind Blades: Start of any assault phase. One enemy unit within 6" loses 1 toughness for the rest of the assault phase.
Vortex of Doom: As C:SM
Sanctury: Enemy assault phase. Enemy units wishing to assault any Grey Knight within 12" of librarian must make a difficult AND dangerous terrain test.
Psychic Communion (Grandmaster and Captain only): Take a psychic test. If passed, you may modify any reserve rolls by + or -1.
Heroic Sacrafice (Champion only): During any assault phase and when the "chaplain" dies. If the psychic test is passed, make one attack against any one model that is in base to base with the champion. If the attack hits, the model is removed as a casualty with no saves. If it misses, there is no effect.
Cleansing Flame (Purifiers only): Start of any assault phase. All enemy models that are part of the same assault suffer a wound on a 4+ before any blows are struck with saving throws allowed. Casualties count towards combat resolution.
Astral Aim (Purgation Squad only): Shooting Phase. Unit and attached characters may fire at any unit in range and regardless of line of sight. Target automatically gets a 4+ cover save that cannot be modified.
Reconstruction (techmarines only): Beginning of techmarine's movement. Re-roll any repair roll.
Fortitude (Vehicle only): At the start of Grey Knight player's turn, removes any shaken or stunned results.
Zone of Banishment(Captain Stern only): During Stern's assault phase. All models (friend and foe, but NOT stern) within 6" make a strength test or are removed from play. Demons must re-roll successful tests.
They sound awesome (as they always did), but with just a lot more options and even more heroic. The thing I like with these is that hopefully they'll be a quick army for people to start and get properly painted, since they should be very small in number.

I may have to get some to ally with the Guard (if it's still allowed) and if not, I've now got a hell of a lot of Inquisitorial Stormtroopers lying about...

What do you guys reckon? Especially Col. Straken..

[Rumours] Daemonhunters, Witchhunters and Inquisition Forces

Normally, I'll avoid posting news and stuff on here, but a couple of us have been talking about Grey Knight rumours found across the web, so I thought I'd compile them and discuss it properly on here.

The first lot is a biiiiiig list of what is supposedly to come with it all:

=][= Inquisition
There will be no new DH/WH books, and there will be a single =][= book
Release window is not 2010 for Codex =][= Inquisition – Rumours are it might just be a release of Storm Raven / Terminators in September
GK and =I= forces are much further along in Development than Sisters and Priests.
All inquisition units to get new models...eventually
Codex: Inquisition to combine all orders of =I=
No allies, but indoctrinated units will include choices from other Imperial armies
Lots of Psychic Nullification Sounds like GK
Lots of Ignore Invul Sounds like GK
Another flyer/transport kit Valkyrie-sized being planned for release Could be a Valkyrie box with options like the LR Crusader kit – This is obviously the Storm Raven
Imperial Assassin now a single unit, Culexus, Callidus, etc all gone. Unit will have numerous lethal options. Very Expensive.
New vehicle : Jetbikes?
New Character/model : A named preacher. New model for Imperial Missionary Jacobus?
New Character/model : Confessor with a big staff with what looks like integrated flamer New model for Imperial Confessor Kyrinov?

Grey Knights
GK being focused on for release, Sisters 2nd wave
GK models may see light of day early tied into another product release. (commentary: I hear rumors of a Space hulk expansion being planned, but they are vague and disorganized, so much salt needed here) – This could be when the Storm Raven / GK termies are released
New GK Terminators 3ups (5 poses, 1 HQ/leader)
New Daemonhunter concept art
New Grey Knight fluff, definitely enough there for a full codex. Much more detail on organization and history. Background on "heroes." Good stuff.
New DH vehicles/support
New Character/model : Looks like a Grey Knight Chaplain.
New Character/model : Grey Knight named justicar, with 2 ended force weapon.
New Character/model : Grey Knight vehicle based character. Grey Knight on jetbike? Earlier refference to Sammael taken into consideration

Sisters of Battle
No faith points Does NOT mean no more Acts of Faith, most likely similar to IG Orders – BOOOOOOOO! Faith Points were ace.
New Witchhunter concept art
New WH vehicles/support
New Character/model : Sister with what looks like twin arm mounted SBs.
New Character/model : New concept for Throne of Judgement, less like a converted dread.
New Character/model : Sister with twin cat o nine tails. Named Repentia Mistress? Sounds interesting but unlikely. Sister Repentia box set being discontinued supports rumour on plastic repentias
New Character/model : Named Seraphim with new jump pack, more marine like (large jets) but retains some archaic details, also has sword and combi weapon

Named Characters : "Around a dozen named characters, incl existing"
WH has Saint Celestine and Inquisitor Lord Karamazov
DH has Brother-Captain Stern of the Grey Knights and Inquisitor Lord Torquemada Coteaz, allso mentions Inquisitor Quixos and Helgrund

Inquisitor Quixos is mentioned in the DH codex but is not a playable character. He´s a radical Inquisitor being the one to create Daemonhosts (one binding the Daemon Cherubael and the other not quite identified but was known as Prohaniti)
He allso mastered the art of creating Soulguards - individuals who were psychic vacuums that could absorb magic and protect those nearby from the baneful energies of Chaos
Wields a daemonblade containing the ferocity of Kharnagar the Deathly, a being he had defeated some decades earlier and whose essence had been boing into his sword
Could invoke the full power of Kharnagar, causing Helgrund to explode into flames and immolate when driving his daemonblade into Helgrund´s guts

Inquisitor Helgrund is mentioned in the story about Quixos who is later killed by him with his daemonsword.
Has Redemptionist priests and an arco-flagellant in his retinue
Wields a Force Hammer, charged with faith and purity
Was able to call upon the Emperor´s blessings and drove hard at Quixos, his force hammer smashing through psychic shields and warp-wards alike (Ignore inv save I take it)

That's a big hefty list there and a lot to read through... but oh wait - there's more!

Changes to Grey Knight weaponry:

Normal Grey Knights/Justicar - Powerweapon, Wounds daemons on a 2+.
Grey Knight Terminators/Paladin - Powerweapon, Wounds daemons on a 2+ (Possibility may be master-crafted)
Brother Captain - Forceweapon, Wounds daemons on a 2+ (Possibility may be master-crafted)
Grand Master - Forceweapon, Wounds daemons on a 2+, Re-roll invulnerable saves (Again possibility may be master-crafted).

Also Aegis Armour:
Aegis Armour now gives a 5+ Invulnerable save from Psychic attacks targeted on the wearer(s) and a 4+ Inv. Save for Terminators armoured GKs and HQs.

So what do you guys reckon? Reportedly it will be a Storm Raven and Grey Knight Terminators release in September, with conflicting rumours whether the rest of it will be at that time (including the codex).

Thanks to Librarium Online for me finding the rumours, specifically JarranVanKell and Rhyn0 for posting them on there.

- What do you guys think? There's nothing solid at the min so apply some salt on all this!

[Rumours] Blood Angels

Some new rumours for the Blood Angels just to throw them out there as we did with the Nids, courtesy of Bell of Lost Souls

I will add my thoughts in RED

General info:
Release 8 April 2010
Written by Matt Ward

Rules:
Army-wide Special Rules
Combat Tactics – As per C:SM
And They Shall Know No Fear – As per C:SM
Red Thirst - Almost all BA units have it. After deployment roll D6 for each unit with the Red Thirst rule. Any unit that rolls a 1 must exchange Combat Tactics for Furious Charge and Fearless.
Descent of Angels - Anything with a Jump Pack can re-roll reserve rolls and will only Scatter 1d6 when Deep Striking.

So far sounds good, Descent of Angels makes me think of Dark Angels though, but a good rule for Blood Angels

Weapons & Wargear:
GW have said there will be a range of specialist wargear for the Blood Angels
Infernus Pistols – 6” Melta pistols
Hand Flamers - S3 AP6 Template
Death Mask - Force a Ld check at -2. Fail and fight at WS1.
Over-charged Engines are gone, replaced with Fast on some vehicles.
Blood Talons - close combat weapons on the Furioso Dreadnought. A dreadnought CCW with a Stormbolter, likely upgradeable to Meltagun/Heavy Flamer.
Magna-Grapples - A R12” S8 anti-vehicle harpoon weapon for Dreadnaughts. On a successful Penetrating or Glancing hit, the target vehicle is dragged 2D6" toward the Dreadnought, facing unchanged. Will only pull a vehicle as far as the edge of Terrain or 1" away from (friendly?) models. It has been said it can cause Tank Shock.

Sounds alot like Sisters of battle, not too impressed with this "Magna-Grapple" but nothing too scary

Psychic Powers:
The Sanguine Sword – Gives Librarian S10
Wings of Sanguinius – As per GW PDF
Quickening - As per C:SM
Unleash Rage - Gives unit Preferred Enemy Blood Boil – A successful Psychic test causes a wound on an enemy unit, allocated by enemy Player. If the Psychic Test is passed with a result of 5 or less, The Blood Angels player allocates the wound.
Unnamed - Draw a line of length 4D6” from the Librarian ignoring friendly models. Enemy models take a single S8 AP1 Lance hit.
Unnamed - Units within 6” get a 5+ cover saveUnnamed – One enemy squad has to take a Ld test to Move, Run, Shoot or Assault.

Some good rules here

HQ:
Dante, Lord of the Blood Angels – He and his squad don't scatter when Deep Striking. He doesn't have Eternal Warrior. Death Mask of Sanguinius – As per regular Death Mask, plus pick a single Independent Character at the start of the game and cause -1 to WS, A, I and Ld. Gives his squad Hit & Run Allows Sanguinary Guard as Troops

He sounds like a decent choice even without Eternal Warrior

Gabriel Seth, Chapter Master of the Flesh Tearers – Captain stat line Armed with a very large Chainsword (S8, rending), Bolt Pistol and Iron Halo. Can forgo his normal attacks and cause one auto-hit on everything in base to base contact with him. If an enemy rolls 1 to hit him, he hits back with a basic close combat attack. Causes all units with Red Thirst to suffer it on a 1-3.

This guy sounds like he could be fun especially he special rule.

Mephiston, Lord of Death – WS7 BS5 S6 T6 W5 I7 A~5 Ld10 Sv 2+ Around the cost of a Land Raider. Armed with Psychic Hood, Plasma Pistol, Force Weapon, Frag & Krak grenades. May cast 3 psychic powers per turn, Transfixing Gaze - Does not require a psychic test. A single Independent Character must take a Ld test with a -4 modifier. If they fail Mephiston may re-roll failed hits and wounds. The enemy may fight back if they survive.

OMG WTH that is rediculous Stats, 5 Wounds at T6 he is a Trygon gone MAD, expect to see him around alot, guess he is the Lord of Death though, will be interesting to find out how to take him down. Appears to have no Inv save which is only fair.

Tycho, Captain of the 3rd Company – Hits like a Monstrous Creature (at S4) and can re-roll a single To-Wound roll. His Combi-Melta has access to Sternguard special ammo. Apparently there are multiple versions such as Death Company in the codex.

Sounds good.

Reclusiarch Chaplain – Death Company get to re-roll to-wound and to-hits on the charge with the Liturgies of Hate

Librarian – No news yet

Company Captain – No news yet

Honour Guard – No news yet

Astorath the Grim – Armed with Power Axe, pistol and Jump Pack Described as an Uber Chaplain. Apparently, if he is with the Death Company, they can re-roll Hits and Wounds.

This all sounds reasonable.

Sanguinor, Exemplar of the Host – A
“mysterious avenging angel” armed with 2-handed master crafted Power Sword (possibly S6), Bolt Pistol, and Jump Pack. WS8 ST5 T4 A5 Sv2+ 3++Forces successful invulnerable saves in close combat to be re-rolled. Can nominate an enemy HQ and get re-rolls to all To-Hit and Wound rolls on that model. All friendly units within 6” get +1 attack. Blessing of Sanguinor - One sergeant in your army has +1 to WS, S, W, I, A and Ld

Sounds alot like the Swarmlord, i'm hoping for a high price with saves like that and forces re-rolled Inv.

Elites:
Chaplain – Death Company get to re-roll to-wound and to-hits on the charge with the Liturgies of Hate

Terminator Squad – No news yet

Terminator Assault Squad – No news yet

Dreadnaught – Can upgrade to Venerable, Furioso, and Furioso Librarian Furioso Librarian have a single Blood Talon and Force Weapon, they have to choose which to use in close combat, but they DO get the +1 attack for having multiple CCWs. They can take 2 Blood Angel psychic powers (including Wings of Sanguinius) and has a Psychic Hood.

Flying Dreadnoughts! Not too keen on the Libby Dread but will have to see how they play.

Techmarine – No access to the Thunderfire Cannon

Vanguard Veterans – A bit cheaper than C:SM. No Relic Blades, but access to the Glaive Encarmine (master crafted Power Weapons). Able to take Hand Flamers. Can supposedly take an Exsanguinator

Sternguard Veterans – As per C:SM

Sanguinary Guard – Armed with wrist-mounted Angelus Boltguns (12" S4 AP4 Assault 2), Glaives Encarmine (master crafted Power Weapons) Jump Packs and Artificer Armour. May take Death Masks. Max squad size of 5.

My only Problem with these is the Wrist mounted guns... too much like Grey Knights for me. i might have to do a Counts as army using these guys

Sanguinary Priests – Unit of 1-3.

Brother Corbulo – Upgrade to Sanguinary Priests. Same profile. Armed with a S5 rending Chainsword. Red grail gives Feel No Pain and Furious Charge within 6”. Supposedly only gets FNP himself on a 2+

The rest sounds good.

Troops:

Assault Squad – As per C:SM but have Red Thirst

Tactical Squad – As per C:SM but have Red Thirst

Death Company – Furious charge, fearless, relentless, FNP, 3-30 models, 0-1 choice. Armed with Bolter, Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon. Can take Power Weapons and Power Fists. Can take Jump Packs. Cost with Jump Packs is the same as it is in the GW PDF. Not a Scoring Unit

30 models!!! bloody hell!

Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost – Upgrade character for Death Company. Armed with Crozius, Bolt Pistol and Jump Pack. Gets stronger if he loses one of his two wounds.

Death Company Dreadnaught - May take one for every 5 Death Company in the army. Several different weapon options including Magna-Grapple, Blood Talons (some form of Melta weapon), etc.

Scout Squad – Standard Scouts. No “Mad Max” style ones

The rest sounds fair

Fast Attack:

Baal Predator – Pretty much the same, but is Fast, has the Scout USR, and the option for a turret-mounted Flamestorm Cannon.

I like the transfer to fast rather than Overcharged, it was always good to see it fail but will make the game run smoother. They seem to be going for a Flame theme with these blood angels, makes sense to the "combat" specialists.

Bike Squadron – No news yet

Attack Bike Squadron – No news yet

Land Speeder – No news yet

Land Speeder Storm – Likely Added

Heavy Support:

Devastator Squad – No news yet

Whirlwind – As per C:SM

Predator – No news yet

Vindicator – As per C:SM but are Fast

Stormraven Gunship – Armour 12 all around, Skimmer, Fast, Assault Vehicle, Deep Strike. Armed with twin-linked Assault Cannons, twin-linked Heavy Bolters and 4 Bloodstrike Missiles.Ceremite Plating make is immune to Melta weapons' extra penetration due to being able to withstand atmospheric re-entry temperaturesBloodstrike Missiles Range 72” S8 AP1 Heavy 1, One-shot Transports up to 12 Marines (Jump Troops take up 2 slots) and up to 1 Dreadnought at the same time.Transported Dreads take a single S4 hit on rear armour if the Stormraven explodesModels can be deployed at any point of the move, even if it goes flat out but they must take a Dangerous Terrain test (Jump Pack Troops have a better chance of passing). Models deployed in this way cannot assault. No fire points4 access points (front, sides and top (?))May replace Heavy Bolters with either twin-linked Multi-Melta or twin-linked Typhoon Launchers. May also take Hurricane Bolter sponsons.

This... this is just wrong, its a Thunderhawk, and barely any smaller from the sounds of it. I expect Land Raider and higher costs for this, around 250-300pts

Dedicated Transports:

Rhino – 50 pts. As per C:SM but are Fast

Razorback – No news yet

Drop Pod – No news yet

Land Raider – Standard, Crusader and Redeemer. Only available as Dedicated Transports. Can supposedly Deep Strike somehow.

Deep Striking Land Raiders?!?! We were joking about Deep Striking a Rhino, didn't think GW would take it seriously and make some Deep Striking Land Raiders!?!?

Well theres the newest rumours, Enjoy!

[Nids] Yet more Hive news..

Copied from Bell of Lost Souls...

Lots of reports coming in from overseas of 1st hand views of the codex at long last:
Here are some confirmed morsels to keep you on the edge of your seat:

Carnifex: WS:3 BS:3 S:9 T:6 W:4 I:1 A:4 Ld:7 Sv:3
Scary options such as the return of old-school bio-plasma which is now a 12" Plasma Cannon
Groups of 1-3 confirmed, +2 I when charging. Costed as Leman Russ Eradicator

Trygon: WS:5 BS:3 S:6 T:6 W:6 I:4 A:6 Ld:8 Sv:3

Its bioelectric field is a 12" S:5 AP:5 Assault 6 weapon.
It indeed deepstrikes and leave a marker behind that other tyranids can reserve through.
Costed as Baharroth.

Zoanthropes: WS:3 BS:4 S:4 T:4 W:2 I:3 A:1 Ld:10 Sv:5

Dualmodes of fire are 24" S:5 AP:3 Assault 1 Blast, OR the 18" S:10 AP:1 Assault 1 Lance (move over Tau)
It indeed deepstrikes and leave a marker behind that other tyranids can reserve through.
Unit sizes are 1-3 and they are Elites. Costed as a SM Predator.

Tyranid Warriors: WS:5 BS:3 S:4 T:4 W:3 I:4 A:3 Ld:10 Sv:4
Can be put in a landingspore, unitsize 3-9, costed as a CSM Termy.

SwarmLord: WS:9 BS:3 S:6 T:6 W:5 I:6 A:4 Ld:10 Sv:3
Causes Instant Death, Armed with quad boneswords, 4+ Invulnerable, Gives +1 to reserves.
Costed as a pair of Colossus.

Swarm lord... OUCH!

Some thoughts on the above:

Carnifexes - Glad they've increased in points cost, now we'll hopefully see a lot less of them on the table, but the ones that are will be MUCH more deadly.

Trygon - Bioelectric field, nice way of dealing with Hordes, and I like the "leave a marker behind for other reserves to appear through". Nice little twist.

Zoanthrope - THE Anti-Tank / Character sniper for the Nids. Really happy to see more Psychic powers showing up and becoming the weapons of choice.

Tyranid Warriors - I like the fact they're now troops, and even better... Landing spores are confirmed. Can't wait to see some conversions of these, I've already got a few in mind.

Swarm Lord - Sounds like he can give a Bloodthirster a run for his money, I'd like to see what special rules come attached to him... and what effect 4 boneswords have?

Your thoughts below guys!

[Nids] 40K Tyranid Rumor overlook

We have all been hearing a lot about the new Tyranid infestation the last couple of months and the rumors are looking more and more solid. Even the Nids are moving towards transport options with the release of a spore capsule, this will work similar to a drop pod with the exception of the drop pod assault rule, as far as we know up to now. Also the spore capsule is going to have a toughness and wounds, which means harder to kill, but you can be locked in combat with it. A way of keeping those weak armour units alive from shooting maybe.

There is also a drop of the eternal warrior USR for synapse creatures, those warriors are going to be much easier to deal with now, even if they are troop choices. There looks to be some nasty HQ choices including the special Tryant “The Horror” and the Tervigon looks like it could cause a lot of problems spawning Termagaunts everywhere, reminds me of fighting the Vampire Counts.

I personally am not keen on the new weapon rules, I much preferred when the creature affected the amount of shots and the strength, but I assume this is how GW plan to simplify everything and it may turn out to make the games quicker and easier to understand. This is the same with the Biomorphs giving Universal Special Rules, I am undecided on this and will have to wait until the new Codex is released and I fight against them in their new form.

I am eager to see the new models on the board, especially the Tyrannofex because at the moment I have the image of a Tyrannosaurus Rex holding a couple of flamers and a big cannon on his back. We will be releasing a full list of all our gathered rumors and information later in the week.
