Some thoughts on the above:
Carnifexes - Glad they've increased in points cost, now we'll hopefully see a lot less of them on the table, but the ones that are will be MUCH more deadly.
Trygon - Bioelectric field, nice way of dealing with Hordes, and I like the "leave a marker behind for other reserves to appear through". Nice little twist.
Zoanthrope - THE Anti-Tank / Character sniper for the Nids. Really happy to see more Psychic powers showing up and becoming the weapons of choice.
Tyranid Warriors - I like the fact they're now troops, and even better... Landing spores are confirmed. Can't wait to see some conversions of these, I've already got a few in mind.
Swarm Lord - Sounds like he can give a Bloodthirster a run for his money, I'd like to see what special rules come attached to him... and what effect 4 boneswords have?

they sound like good stats apart from the fex which has gained 2 attacks, lost 3 from the leadership and lost its upgradeable abilites, but the squadron ability should counteract this (not counting the cost increase though), i cant wait to try out the new zonathropes
ReplyDeleteI reckon it'll be a Synapse Creature now, rather than fearless... hence the drop in Leadership, so that if it's on it's own outside of Range it's more than likely it'll do balls all.

It should have some upgradable abilities like Poisoned Weapon, Furious Charge etc.
Also, it's a Unit not a Squadron... so it's basically just 1 to 3 fexes rolling collectively for Leadership, etc
It does however free up your Heavy slots for Trygons and Mawlocs!
forget the fexes a Trygon has 6 wounds, just take three of them and watch your opponent slit their own throat. and take 5 Tervigons, 3 as troops with you Termigaunts and 2 as HQs making more squads of Guants for the fun of it... mmm dirty dirty. and probably all cheaper than running 6 fexes.
