Calling all Gaming Clubs

Hi all,

Angryman here. This is callout to other gaming clubs. I'm trying to create ties between clubs so we can share ideas, play each other on a semi regular basis, run apocalypse games, host competitions etc.

The main problem I've have is that I don't know where any of you are.

We had a regular 6 monthly gaming competition against a club in the Lake District (Furness Wargamers, a link to them can be found on the blog) but because of other commitments we haven't been up there is about 18 months which is a shame as it was a very good day. Junk food for breakfast, 3 games of 1750 then back home.

Are there any clubs out there who would be interested in this, we don't have to be in the same country to swap ideas or even to say hi. It would be good to hear from the wider gaming community.

All comments welcome.

  1. Whilst not exactly a gaming club (more like a loose band of people with similar interests) you could contact the FlameOn guys. They are based around Manchester too. Check the forum out (http://flameon.co.uk) and drop the challenge :)

  3. Yeah I guess, well I was one of the founding members but I moved back to Greece long since then so I am kind of an international member. I am also with the Greek guild of Imperial Seals these days :)

  4. When I went into Portcullis Wargames in Bolton the other day, the guy in the shop mentioned that there is a group that meets there on Friday evenings. I think there is also a wargames group in Wigan.

  6. Most people into GW stuff play Fantasy but in the last couple of years a lot (for Greek standards anyway) of guys also picked up 40K. But I guess MtG is the most popular option amongst gamers, warhamms has still a long way to go :)

  9. My club are based in Warrington. We have just been to a inter club tournament and really enjoyed it. We are currently looking into making it a regular thing and maybe inviting other clubs along.
Send us an email NWUK-40K@hotmail.co.uk if think you may be interested. We also run a couple of events through out the year (40k & fantasy) if you are interested.
