Hi all,
Angryman here, there are lots of characters and gods in the 40K universe. Each have their own abilities, strengths and weaknesses. If they were put in an arena with each other, lets say a deathmatch arena, who dya think would win?
The 3 different matchups are
The Primarchs: Lion El'Johnson, Fulgrim, Peturabo, Jaghatai Khan, Leman Russ, Rogal Dorn, Night Haunter, Sanguinius, Ferrus Manus, Angron, Robute Gulliman, Mortarion, Magnus the Red, Horus, Lorgar, Vulkan, Corax, Alpharius (and Omegeon).
The Gods: The Emperor, Khorne, Tzeentch, Slannesh, Nurgle, Gork, Mork, The Outsider, The Deceiver, The Void Dragon, The Nightbringer, Laughing God, Khaine, Isha, Cegorach
The 'Big' characters: Abbadon the Dispolier, Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thrakka, Commander Farsight, Marneus Calgar, Eldrad Ulthran, Asdrubael Vect, Swarmlord, Commissar Sebastian Yarrick, An'ggrath the Unbound.
So in each matchup who would win and why?
Match up 1) Not too sure, I guess Fulgrim based on he killed the most others, Ferrus, and Roboute (who is almost dead)
ReplyDeleteMatch up 2) Tzeentch, because he has a plan!
Match up 3) Angraath, but thats only because he is ALOT better than the rest (but also alot costlier), out of the others, I would say Abbadon or Thraka. I would have liked to see Straken rather than Yarrick!
Swarmlord cannonically trumps Marneus, so there's no contest there. Farsight, like all Tau, is a total pushover compared to all the absurd LO I AM BECOME DEATH DESTROYER OF WORLDS characters that abound in 40K. Eldrad is dead, isn't he? He doesn't get to play in this. Abbadon and An'ggrath both seem like they could give Swarmie a run for his money (or worse), but I don't know enough fluff to say who'd take who.
ReplyDeleteOf the Gods, I'm pretty sure that one of the Chaos four would beat everyone else pretty hands-down. Gork and Mork are... vague, dunno. Khaine/Isha/etc aren't really very strong, what with there being all six space elves left. It's been proposed that the Emperor is strong enough to take on Chaos himself, but I don't know if there's really anything to support that- none of the Chaos gods can really exist in the material plane in the first place, so... The C'tan are basically boned when it comes to a fight in the warp, aren't they? So yeah, no contest there.
Primarchs... in a grand every man for himself big fight, it would greatly depend on whether this is pre or post fall - a chaos corrupted Horus would be a much tougher match than a noble Horus. Alpharius and Omegon would have the obvious advantage of being able to double team the others, but knowing this they may gang up to eliminate them early. I could see Leman Russ being one of the final runners, but whoever would left would likely be knackered and finished off by the late arriving Lion El Johnson... he does have a habit of turning up late for the important fights!
ReplyDeleteThe gods is tricky - The emperor already beat the Void Dragon, but lacked the power to destroy it. Therefore a fight to the death could get dull real quick. The emp is also said to be a match for chaos, so even if they all teamed up (pretty unlikely - and even if they did it wouldn't last long. Khorne could be bent over the emperor giving him a pummelling, and Slaaneesh might do something to take advantage of his position... they'd be fighting among themselves again allowing the emp to regain the upper hand. Finally, as the emp is quite possibly the only one able to fight in both the material and immaterial realm, he wins cos he can reach opponents the other gods can't!
As for the big characters, surely the unmentioned Lucius the Eternal would win this one! Whoever kills him becomes him. Abaddon would floor him, gloat... transform. Lucius wins. The only way to kill him is to not take pride in it - I think only the Emperors chump is enough of a god-botherer to not take any satisfaction in a job well done. So my money is on him.
That's my tuppence worth anyway...
you're right, lucius should have been mentioned that guy is unstoppable!!!
ReplyDeleteUnless a Hive Tyrant kills him.
ReplyDeletePRIMARCHS
ReplyDeleteSanguinius. He pasted The Bloodthirster, Ka'bandha, and hordes of chaos protecting the gates of the palace single handedly before going to face up against a fresh mega heresy Horus, battered & bruised, knowingly he was going to have to die. He wore down Horus, who still managed to cripple the emperor before being struck down.
Failing that Fulgrim would be a good bet pre or post heresy, as stated earlier he tallied the most Primarcdh kills.
GODS
I would say Slaanesh but all the Chaos Gods are stuck within the warp so although they hold extreme power are limited in their actions. The Emperor tricked the chaos powers, but this was probably one of their first meetings with a non warp entity. So probably settle on one of the C'tan --- though don't know enough of them individually to say which.
BIG CHARACTERS
Lucius is a sensible choice as he comes back if someone takes joy when/if they kill him. I would go for Fabius Bile, based on the last heresy book :-D
